Antique Japanese / Chinese? Bronze Bowl

Applied with crab,snail,salamander,frog turtle/tortoise

may be Meiji? or influenced by that era
8 x 5 inches (19 x 12 cm) approximately

This exquisite bronze bowl features intricate detailing of a crab, snail, salamander, frog, and turtle. Its origin is thought to be from Japan or China. I have suggested Meiji but leave it to the buyer to determine. I have seen similar bowls with the same trailing lotus stalks, that one was described as art nouveau but this bowl looks more in the style of Japan. Again I have to leave this to the buyer to decide. Whatever its origin or age it is so beautiful in its construction! I bought it with a view to keeping it but needs must to get on the housing ladder. I don't know how much it sell for so can't be precise about the carriage insurance. The service quote from royal mail includes compensation up to £750.

This decorative bowl is perfect for collectors of Asian/Oriental antiques and those seeking unique pieces to add to their collection. Crafted from high-quality bronze, this bowl showcases the exceptional skill and craftsmanship of its creators. Its intricate design and attention to detail make it a true work of art. Whether displayed on its own or used for its intended purpose, this antique bowl is sure to be a cherished addition to any collection.
