I have an Extremely Rare Swagger Stick from the East Lancashire Regiment, very good Pre-Owned Condition. Brass Top, will polish up very well. Missing Bottom Brass Tip. But the cane is undamaged apart from that.
Swagger Sticks were commonly used by Non Commissioned Officers and men, both on and off duty.
They were carried under the left arm parallel to the ground, leaving the right arm free to salute. I have no Idea of the age of this but suspect it dates to WW1 and beyond, when the Regiment was posted to Egypt to protect the Suez Canal.
