1955 Press Photo Fire Trucks demonstrate 100 foot ladders at city hall

This is an original press photo. One hundred foot ladders - one from an old German fire truck and the other from a modern American truck - reached up the wall of the city hall Tuesday as the equipment was demonstrated. The German ladder (nearest camera) is 27 years old. It is on a new truck 32 feet long. The combination is valuable because its short length makes it much easier to handle in traffic than the other truck which is 59 feet long.
