This is a Danish M/48 canteen. It is the second version with the green plastic cap (the first version had a stainless steel cap like the British Pattern 1944 water bottle, and was made in the UK). It is wide mouth (approx. two inches across), with an aluminum body, plastic cap, metal cap retaining chain, and rubber neck gasket.

This canteen is officially referred to as the Dansk Hærens Feltflaske M48. This canteen remained in military service until at least the late 1970’s.

On the bottom is stamped the royal crown and 19FMI57. FMI stands for Forsvarets Materiel Intendantur (Defence Material Intendant Watch or quartermaster service) while the numbers refer to the date, 1957.

Measures eight inches tall (with cap), and has a capacity of 1.2 liters. It's ideal for camping, bushcraft, and military use. All are usable with nothing funky or nasty in them (no interior corrosion), but will have some minor external storage wear and maybe some light corrosion on the chain.

Price is for one canteen.

Please do not bid if you have a "0" (zero) feedback score or an excessive negative feedback score (or, contact me so we can work something out). It is the buyer's responsibility to pay any and all applicable taxes and/or customs duties for this item.

Most sales are final, but I will honor eBay's standard return policy only if you are dissatisfied with the item due to a reason that was not within the description at the time of auction or if I state that the item is original and it somehow turns out to not be. The original item must be returned unmodified and in the condition it was sold; return postage costs or charges may not be refunded. I am a fair and honest person and will work with you on any issues and do not believe in leaving negative feedback for minor issues. And, I will always leave feedback on sales after receiving feedback from the buyer.

Thanks!
