This is a 1918 WW 1 Wool Field Coat. It is in great condition for its age. The tag inside reads Brooklyn, NY, and dated March 13, 1918.  F. CRUM is written inside on the lining. Included is a handwritten note as to whom the coat belonged.  Frank Crum is actually  James Franklin Crum according to the records that I found.  The data that I found online matches the letter.

The coat is a 4 pocket,  5 button design.  The bottom coat button is missing. The large coat buttons are marked AM BUTTON CO NEWARK NJ except one, and it is marked SCOVILLE BUTTON CO WATERBURY.  The small buttons are marked with the SCOVILLE BUTTON CO, as well.  The lining has one slit pocket and is in good condition, some faded areas, but no holes. There is a small hole in the armpit area on the right side of the coat.  At the top, there is a double hook closure, with 1 missing hook.  On the left sleev, there is 1 gold chevron showing time over seas and one green chevron near the bottom of the sleeve.

The chest measurement is 39" and the length is 28".

Included is the hat and what I believe is a scarf,  but I'm not positive.  The scarf is in poor condition.
