Please note- This car CAN be driven away

After much deliberation I have decided to sell my E61 525d M sport touring,  She’s on 183k miles now and I’ve loved using her and been on some great trips.  Reliable and just awesome.  I was just about to carry out a fairly sizeable service having ordered a load of items from Autodoc for it including glowplugs, fuel filter among other bits that will be included, when I started to notice a exhaust manifold gas leak, local garage quoted 3 hours to do the job.  I don’t have the time to work on her unfortunately and have bought a newer 5 series.

Always warmed up and run down to help the turbo cool.  Mostly long drives for work around the UK and as far as Croatia and back 😊

Low owners,  previous owner and me put the majority of the miles on it.

MOT expiry Feb 2025

Snap shot below of most of the work.

Recon injectors at 100k miles

New alternator at circa 130k miles £800 ish fitted by Draycott engineering

New suspension Bilstein dampers and springs on the front all new from Autodoc and fitted by draycott (apart from rear dampers - seemed good) circa labour £600 + £800 ish for suspension bits

New rear air bags from Autodoc at 150k miles (good premium ones) £220 ish

New premium battery in 2021 (previous battery was original)

Multiple Lower arms on the front both sides,  drop links,  anti roll bar on the front. £some but always premium and above OE.

Carbon/hydrogen clean at 90k

regular oil changes etc

Swirl flaps blanked,  inlet manifold cleaned at 140k

WHOLE NEW REAR SUBFRAME at 160k miles! - camber bolts seize on em and if they snap (made of ally has to be replaced.  big job, diff off, exhaust etc. drive straight and lovely now – done at Merytyre.

Pilot sport 5’s all round. 4-5mm remaining.  Cost £160 a corner not long ago with a lot of life in.

Tow bar fitted professionally with 7 pin electrics

Gearbox service carried out 140k miles  (requires mechatronics connection being wiggled (currently will not manual change up or down but works fine in auto (been this way for 30k miles). I have a new one for it (it stopped working straight after but didn't bother me as I didn't really shift manually. No untoward noises etc.

Running EBC brake pads and has started to judder on the front.  This is a common issue with EBC yellows,  as they pick up.  Need to be removed and material removed.  Otherwise discs are in good condition with a lot of meat on the pads.   Normal Air bag light due to the passenger boot strap on,  TPMS light on since switching back from Winter wheels. Bumper has received damage and I had planned on replacing with the one I bought,  but just ended up driving as is. Sun roof is in a fixed position.  Few scratches, dents as shown in the pics but does still look very presentable and gets complimented often. 2 glow plugs have failed (included is 6 new)  PDC does not work but as tow bar never bothered me.

Loads of documentation,  FSH before I owned it,  then BMW specialist (Pro tech in High Wycombe until 113k miles).  Then local garages,  then just after Covid hit & for the more complex jobs or preventative maintenance I took over.  It's had the boot hinge wiring work completed

BMW 5 spoke Winter wheels and quality Michelin  winter tyres with 4mm,

LOAD of parts; LED lights, to do basically everything in her from dipped and full beams to interior lighting in cool blue-white.

Spare wheel arch for the side that is chewed up (root in a carpark before mountainbiking)

Trim for bumper

Parts service kit includes:

Bosch fuel filter, the 6 Bosch glow plugs planned on being fitted, Fuel filter as the mileage dictates its time to be replaced. Water pump, EGR thermostat, Boot top glass lift button. Boot Ram, pollen filters, oil filter. No Oil is included.

Please note the boot will be near full with all the quality parts included with the car, unless agreed otherwise.

I've also a number of odds and sods for her too.  Like spare PDC modules etc.

Looking for a quick ish sale – already have another car no swaps thanks…and a spare.  Please see the listing for my stop gap Skoda Superb (quite a nice car – still prefer the E61)

License plate is private and will not go with the sale – the original is 56 plate.

Optional Extra: Brand new unpainted m sport bumper available but collection in Wales (bodyshop out there has it).

I would be surprised if there is another E61 525D that’s had the quality of parts fitted and could make someone a great motor with a little work.  Its currently driveable and I would have no issue driving to Cornwall and back in her right now.
