Please find for offer a wonderful naïve school portrait painting of a gentleman, dating to circa 1830. Oil on canvas and presented in a period maple veneered frame with gilt slip. The painting is a charming depiction of a smartly dressed gentleman wearing a white shirt with a red waistcoat and cravat, a green blazer and sporting an unusual white top hat. The portrait is in a subtle landscape setting with a hint of sky showing.

Condition:

Some subtle craquelure throughout. Possible small touch-in to the edge of his right cheek. The frame has some small loss/wear to the lower edge. Age related wear as expected but overall in good ready to hang condition. Please examine photos carefully.
