LAFAYETTE TE-55 / 99-5012

Valve / Tube Tester

This tester was made in Japan in the late 60's.

It was designed to operate on the American 110-120 volt system. A step down transformer will be required to enable its operation on the Australian 240 volts. Suitable transformers are readily available on eBay, but please get one with a rating of at least 100 watts.

It is of excellent cosmetic appearance. The face panel is almost unmarked. The cloth covered, timber box box is also in a very good condition. Please enlarge the supplied photos and judge for yourself.

The tester is provided with eight sockets. Octal, Loctal, 9 pin, Noval, 7 pin miniature, 8 pin sub-min, Compactron and Nuvistor.

It is in excellent operational condition, and comes complete with new copies of the Operating Instructions and Tube Chart.

The Tube Chart lists hundreds of popular valves including 6CA7 (EL34), 6L6, 6V6, 12AX7 etc.

The various pictures show, in sequence, a 6B6, 12AX7, 5U4, EF22 (7C7) and a 6J6 being tested for quality and a 6L6 being tested for leakages and filament continuity.

There is very little to go wrong. However, the instructions should be followed, as wrong settings could damage the valves or the tester itself.

Overall, it is a very convenient and easy to use tester and should give you many years of service.

Your satisfaction is of utmost importance. If you believe that the unit is not as described, or has been misrepresented, I will gladly refund the full purchase price, providing you return it to me in its original condition.

Pick up from Seaford, Victoria 3198, is available if required.
