Maker: Breathtakingly beautiful. From the house of Waterford - legendary maker of top quality Irish crystal - this elegant set of 8 claret or white wine glasses demonstrates the company's utter mastery of the art of crystal making.

Design: The wonderful pattern of vertical cuts and crosses is called Ballymore. That gorgeous pattern and the purity, clarity and artistry of the crystal make the set very beautiful. The glasses sparkle brilliantly in the light.

Marks and age: All 8 glasses have a very faint version of the Waterford script mark that was in use from 1986 to 2000, when the Waterford seahorse mark was introduced. Crystal with this mark was produced in Ireland.

Ballymore was produced from 1992 to 2017 so these glasses date to between 1992 and 2000.

The Waterford marks are hard to find on this older set: they can be seen in bright light when the glasses are held at an angle.

One glass appears to be newer. It has the script mark but its stem is a little thinner and the etching on the foot extends to the edge; on the other glasses it does not. It is a slightly different size as noted below.

Condition: The glasses are in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration, water lines or fogging. There are small scratches on the bases consistent with long-term use.

Size: Like all handmade glassware, these glasses vary slightly in size and weight. Seven glasses are 7 inches tall, 2 1/2 inches wide at the top and 2 3/4 inches wide at the base. The 8th is 7 inches tall, 2 5/8 inches wide at the top and 2 5/8 inches wide at the base.

The set weighs 4 pounds 8 ounces.

Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
