Series 0 w/Crosshatch Damaskeen
E. Howard Watch Co., Boston 16 size 23 jewel open face pendant-set unmarked Series 0 pocket watch movement/dial/hands. This example is highlighted by its rarely seen and very attractive crosshatch pattern movement damaskeen that was only used among examples from the first production run, and based on known examples it appears that total production of this open face version with crosshatch damaskeen is approximately 750 made. Dial is double-sunk enamel with Arabic hour numerals. Serial number is 953129.
Running but balance motion is sluggish and I think likely this movement hasn't seen any type of servicing in many years. Very nice looking movement cosmetically with excellent color and luster and some typical mild small surface marks. Dial is excellent with just a few small surface nicks and typical fine glaze scratches.
