Dale Earnhardt Sr. “The Intimidator”: 4/29/51 – 2/18/2001  Autographed with COA - PSA / DNA

On the afternoon of February 18, 2001, American stock car racing driver and team owner Dale Earnhardt was involved in a final-lap collision in the 2001 Daytona500, in which he crashed into a retaining wall after making contact with Sterling Marlin and Ken Schrader.  He was pronounced dead at Halifax Medical Center a short time later.  He was 49 years old, and the fourth NASCAR driver killed by a basilar skull fracture during an 8-month span, following Adam Petty in May 2000, Kenny Irwin Jr. in July 2000,and Tony Roper in October 2000.

In only his second full season, 1980, Earnhardt nabbed his first championship.  He won consecutive titles on three separate occasions (1986-1987, 1990-1991 and 1993-1994).Earnhardt’s 76 victories rank seventh all time. He is the all-time leader in race victories at Daytona International Speedway with 34, though the most prominent of them was a while in the making.  In 1998, Earnhardt won his most coveted race—the Daytona 500. The scene was a memorable one, forever etched in the minds of race fans. As Earnhardt’s black No. 3 rolled down pit road, a Daytona 500winner at last, every crew member from every team lined up to congratulate one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history.

HOT OUT OF PSA / DNA today!  And DIFFICULT TOGET:  As if it wasn't difficult enough to get autographs, it's twice as hard to get them authenticated...  I sent in 8 autographs to PSA / DNA to authenticate, but only 2 came back "authentic".  Now I KNOW that's not accurate, but I do understand... They can't take just anyone's word saying "I personally got the card signed”.  And after a short time of irritation… I like it that the frauds out there aren’t getting COA’s. In this case, I did personally get Dale to sign this car when he came to Oregon 25+/- years ago.  It’s the real thing!  And it’s unique!
