‘PHONO'

This carefully re-designed, long, mid-century sideboard by ‘Stonehill’ is a stylish tribute to the timeless medium of vinyl records; the ‘33’ and ‘45’ numerals being a knowing-nod to vinyl enthusiasts everywhere and their curated collections that invariably spin at either 33 or 45 rpm (the lesser-used 78rpm shellac discs have been celebrated too in previous EP creations!).

Not only the perfect storage solution for your prized record collection, it’s a sturdy piece of kit too - and an ideal platform for positioning your turntable and amplifier upon, enhancing the quality of your listening enjoyment by minimising the chances of suffering the audiophile’s curse; unwanted vibrations.

Yet the fun doesn’t end there; there’s no better accompaniment to your vinyl listening experience than your favourite drink, and the neighbouring cocktail compartment allows you to prepare your Old Fashioned without even leaving the room. Alternatively, if it’s a more traditional sideboard you’re after, the record dividers can be removed enabling the space to be used for whatever you wish.

Featuring a pair of removable stainless steel dividers and capable of holding upwards of 120 x 12” vinyl LPs, the record storage compartment has been modified with 'stepped-in' sides to allow for ease of removing/inserting records beyond the sturdy door hinges.

The cocktail cabinet section features a pure white Formica-laminated drop-down serving door with removable 6mm glazed shelf affording ample space for glasses and bottles.

Mains-powered LED lighting illuminates both cabinets with on/off ‘swipe’ sensors, dimmable and warm/bright functionality, and twin extension sockets with generous 2m electrical flex affixed via magnetic strips to the underside of the sideboard.

The oversized, 3D, gold ‘33’ and ‘45’ numerals in a mid-century ‘Neutraface’-style font boldly grace the framed doors adding a unique focal point to the already handsome sideboard. The frames and moulded grab handles are hand-painted with white mineral paint that extends down to the legs beneath, elevating the teak timber of the carcass fronts beautifully, whilst the raised pinstripe beading around the frames is highlighted with rich 24 carat gold leaf. All wood sections have been professionally restored with the external sections finished with a hard-wearing wax-oil and, internally, with Danish oil.

All of the furniture in our Store is vintage or antique and has enjoyed a previous life. Whilst professionally refinished/restored, some minor or discreet signs of wear may remain, or other age-related indicators such as pitting to original metalwork, or ghosting to mirrored sections may be present.
