ISSUE 460: FRAGMENTS

MARVEL ALL-COLOUR COMICS, MARCH 1993

ISSUE DETAILS: IT BEGINS HERE! A NEW ERA OF GREATNESS! THE QUEST OF GODS!

FROM IMMORTAL ASGARD HE HAILS - THE GREATEST WARRIOR OF THEM ALL. SON OF THE ALL-FATHER, ODIN. WIELDER OF THE MYSTIC HAMMER, MJOLNIR. HE IS THE NORSE GOD OF THUNDER, MASTER OF THE STORM AND LIGHTNING. STAN LEE PRESENTS…THE MIGHTY THOR!

Issue 460 of the first volume of Marvel’s flagship Thor comic, also known as The Mighty Thor, published in March 1993 and featuring a story entitled Fragments. The creative team for the issue was as follows...

The story is spread across 22 pages with full colour artwork throughout. The other contents include BULLPEN BULLETIN (From the Mike and news about upcoming Marvel releases, etc.), a sneak peak at a forthcoming crossover story featuring Warlock and the Silver Surfer, and numerous adverts of varying sizes with great nostalgia value.

The comic meets the criteria for a Very Fine grading, though this hasn’t been professionally ratified. There is some minor wear along the spine and a very faint crease in one corner of the front cover, but no other defects and the binding is secure. There are no missing pages, no marks or folds, and the colours are bright and free of discoluration.

Thor comics of this vintage are becoming increasingly rare, so at the low price, this is a bargain not to be missed. I have taken some photos to show what a nice item it is, but these really don’t do it justice. Please see my other listings for more vintage comics and memorabilia (including other issues of The Mighty Thor).

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Leaping from the legends of Norse mythology, the Asgardian God of Thunder, Thor Odinson, is the son of Odin the All-Father and Jord, Elder Goddess and spirit of the Earth. He frequently stands alongside the Avengers in the defense of the people of Midgard (Earth), often against the schemes of his adopted brother Loki.
