Mid-century Clyde Burt ceramic medallion, made of chamotte clay, carved geometric pattern on top lightly glazed in off-white, came out of an East Coast estate which also housed a Clyde Burt mural and several Clyde Burt pots, confirmed with Ron Burt, Clyde Burt's son, these medallions were made by his father. According to Ron, these were meant to be used a pendant on a leather necklace.

Clyde Burt (1922-1981) was born in Melrose, Ohio. He studied at Fort Wayne Art School and the Cape Cod School of Art. He worked under Maija Grotell at Cranbrook. Later, Burt have returned to Ohio and worked as a full-time studio potter on his family's 28-acre farm. He taught at Fort Wayne and Dayton Art Institute, and also participated in craft fairs on the weekends. Also, he participated in many ceramic nationals around the country and had numerous solo exhibitions.

In good vintage condition, hairline crack.
