The crystal-clear nature of fluorapophyllite makes it a perfect selection for collectors; it is easily found and reasonably affordable. Occasionally when fluorapophyllite has a trace amount of iron, it can morph into a grassy green color. When this discoloration occurs, specimen value skyrockets.

An attractive, shiny luster is also important .fluorapophyllite-(K) is the most common variety, while fluorapophyllite-(Na) is the rarest

A cabinet specimen from a limited find made within the last 3 months.  It contains a number of gray calcite, perched on several interlocking , one escape nearly unscathe-Calacite & calcite crystals shows chipping.

We have all seen the green fluorites and Pinky gray calcites that have come from this area over the past few years, but it has not been until very recently that the two have been found in combination.
