If you love extreme primitives as much as we do you don't want to miss out on this one! It is the BEST early lighting make do candle holder that we recently acquired to use as a display for a pioneer museum project we had going on. It's from the collection of Cheryl Jones of Cabin In The Woods in Michigan. If you know of her primitive antiques you know she has the very best unique finds ever and this one is definitely just that...very unique! You can find her expertise and her collections featured in Jill Peterson's Simple Life books and the one titled "They Made Do" is a good reference for these wonderful olde finds like this one.  If you don't own that book you definitely need to invest in it and all the others Jill published a few years ago that are getting harder to find because collectors are keeping them for good reference. (And if you're like us you sure do miss Jill's magazines and other publications too but these days you can find her tending to her store in Fancy Gap, Virginia and it's just as fabulous as she is. You can find directions and other info on her social media. And if you love old fashioned primitive clothing with a modern twist for daily wear she's stocked with the goodes you will love as much as we do. And she ships fast!)

Please study the pics for a much better description than we could ever write here and know it's much better in person too. It has a chunky old wood hewn base that measures about 5 inches across not counting the handle which is smooth from many years of use on the side. It measures about 9 inches tall not counting the early tallow candle that we will include with it so you can display or use it when it arrives at your doorstep. The iron metal spike is an early forged one and has aged appropriately over many years of time and use. The cone part is attached securely and properly and has aged quite well. There is old dark wax on the base and throughout which we left as we found it and have not cleaned or altered this magnificent piece of history in any way. It's heavy and oh so primitive just the way we antique purists like our old treasures. :)
