Maker: This striking blue and white cup and saucer set is by the renowned ceramics firm Lomonosov of St. Petersburg, Russia.

The three blue Cyrillic letters on the reverse are ЛФЗ, or LFZ, which stands for Lomonosov Farforovyi Zavod, or the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory – originally the Imperial Porcelain Factory, or IPM, in St. Petersburg. The factory was nationalized by the Communists after the Russian Revolution and renamed the State Porcelain Factory, or GFZ.

The name was changed to Lomonosov Porcelain Factory in 1925 and it remained in business under that name until 2005, when the company reverted to its previous name, the Imperial Porcelain Factory, though the Lomonosov name is still used. The firm has produced exceptional quality porcelain for more than 260 years.

Age: This set was purchased new in 2004 at Lomonosov's flagship store in St Petersburg.

Design: It features a lovely stylized pattern of blue and yellow against a backdrop of fine thin and translucent white porcelain.

Size: The cup is 3 3/8 inches wide at the opening and 3 inches tall. The saucer is 5 inches wide. The set weighs 6.6 ounces.

Condition: This set has never been used and has been on display since it was purchased. Both pieces are in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, crazing, stains, repairs, discoloration or wear.
