This is an official, on field authentic cap, low profile variation, worn by Mets players during the 2016 season. Note the absence of the New Era (NE) logo on the side, which was added to official, on field caps for the 2017 season.

The hat is made of a diamond textured synthetic material, unlike the more common smooth cloth material commonly used on fitted caps worn by the players.

The cap features a blue crown, orange bill, and orange logo with white outline.
