The
Bank of Mexico printed this 2-piece set to commemorate the 100-year anniversary
of the Mexican revolution and the 200th anniversary of 1810 Mexican Independence
from Spain. Set comes with matching serial numbers.
The
100 Pesos is dated 2010. The obverse prominently features a locomotive used to transport troops during the revolution.
You can see rebels and farm workers riding in the cars behind the train engine.
The reverse of the note shows a small portion of a mural called “Del
Profirisimo a la Revolucion” located in the National Museum of History in
Mexico City. One very cool feature on this note is the watermark used. It is a
photograph of one of the thousands of women, called Soldaderas, who
participated in the revolution.
The
200 Pesos is dated 2008. The obverse features a painting of Don Miguel Hidalgo giving an impassioned
speech in support of independence. The
painting was done by famous Mexican artist Jesus Enrique Emilio De La Helguera(1910-1971).
The reverse is of the statue called “Victor Alada” or better known as “The
Angel of Independence.” The statue is located on the “Column of Independence”
located in Mexico City.
The sets are fresh and from an original box of 100. They are top quality.
