The
Bank of Mexico printed this commemorate for the 200-year anniversary
of the 1810 Mexican Independence
from Spain. The
200 Pesos notes obverse features a painting of Don Miguel Hidalgo giving an impassioned
speech in support of independence. The
painting was done by famous Mexican artist Jesus Enrique Emilio De La Helguera(1910-1971).
The reverse is of the statue called “Victor Alada” or better known as “The Angel of Independence.” The statue is located on the “Column of Independence”
located in Mexico City.
