Metal ring is stamped SYO 55E
Tested very strong at 40 (Gm of ~4600)  (30 minimum) on a calibrated TV7 that has been rebuilt with a digital meter.
One piece disc getter 
Black base
99% of white silkscreening is rubbed off.  Metal base nickel finish has a slight corroded area going only 1/5th around(see pics)

Made in Eindhoven, NL  in 1955
This database at http://www.tube-classics.de/TC/Tubes/Valvo%20EL34/EL34.htm  calls it "very rare"
