Grateful Dead Fans !!! - and yeah ... Grateful Dead Historians out-there & Everywhere ! --- " We Are Everywhere !!! ".  Oh my goodness ... I mean - " What " a Pull ... from " The Vault " !!!  A seriously ( Seriously !!! ) Incredible-installment right here, for certain ... delivered in the form of " Dave's Picks 24 ".  Wow ... I mean for lack of a better way to " sugar coat it " - this one comes down to the ' real ' brass tacks -- as only the Hardcore ! Deadheads out there will truly know the rarity, history & anthology on this one.  As essentially ... this is really a 1972 Dead Show that we pretty much all ' accepted ' we would never-ever hear.  And, to take this even " Furthur ! " - we didn't even realistically know the Set List ! of This-Show ?!?  So ... it's in this Spirit ! that I shall do my best here, to share the nitty gritty on this one - as I have indeed been one of those who was pretty much all but convinced that this Show would simply never make it to our collective ears, minds & music loving souls !  I've been on this one since the Late-'80's myself, but I will say ... in the end of the 1990's Era - there actually seemed to be a glimmer of ' Hope ' !??  But, honestly - only a little bit -- but, you know ... better than none at all.  As basically ... Dead Base itself never had the Set List for this one, outside of the first 6 or so songs - from the 1st Set.  And, this went on as pretty much " The Case " for all Dead Fans throughout the '80's & '90's Era - until, those fine early days of DAT circulating somewhat frequently.  As then, all of a sudden - out of nowhere, it seemed ... a 45-minute Reel-to-Reel straight transfer starts circulating on DAT tapes ?!??  I couldn't track or trace the source ( in an effort to see if the rest of the Show existed, naturally ... ) - and that was it ... not a single peep about it - for like ... the next 20-Years ??  But, my oh my - did it sound good - like A+ Good ( " Grate ! " ) - so, I was forever hopeful - naturally ... but, the simple reality was - that the wishful " Magic Moment " never did happen.  And, one might certainly & rightfully ask ... " What's the Big-Deal about this 8/25/72 BCT Show ? "  And certainly - great-questions ... so, at least for me --- here is my own answer >>>  1. It is the Show " Right-Before ! " the 8/27/72 Veneta, Oregon " Field Trip ! " ( aka. " Sunshine Daydream " !!! )  2.  It's the ' Last-Show ' of a 4-Show stand at the B.C.T. ( 8/21/72 > 8/22/72 > 8/24/72 > 8/25/72 ) - and ... it's the only one " Missing " !  3.  It's the 1st run of Shows ( in California ! & the Bay Area ! ) during the Pigpen > Donna transition.  4.  It's the California / Bay Area " Homecoming " run of Shows at the B.C.T. " Right-After " ... Europe '72 !!!  5. It's at the B.C.T. !!! - and I always love-me some Berkeley stuff ! -- as it's a place I once called home, for a very short - but sweet little while.  6.  Come on now ... it's a " Missing " Grateful Dead Show !!!  Ha  !  So yeah ... here we are in 2017 ! - and Blammmo !!!?!! >>> " The Whole Darn 8/25/1972 B.C.T. Show ! " - not to mention ... in Pristine ! Digital-Quality !!  So incredibly Ecxellent !!!  Wow .. .. .. Jack Straw ! - Bird Song ! - Playin' !! - Bertha ! - and, last but most-definitely not least >>>  Truckin' ! > Other One !!! > Stella ! > Saturday Night ! ... Sugar Magnolia !!!  Wow !!!!! - I mean ... is 2017 my ' Lucky-Year ' or something ??  I don't know for certain, but I'm sure Feelin' It ! -- I just got 1/22/78 Mac Court Eugene Oregon !!!!! ... & now I get This-One too ?? - 8/25!/1972 from the Good Ol' B.C.T. !?!  Two of my Good Ol' stompin' grounds, and a couple of places too which I once called " Home !! ".  So yeah, you betcha ... 2017 is starting to feel " Just Like Home ! ".  And you betcha ... I'm Lovin' It !  Dang, and for the ' Record ' - a Tremendous ! ' Piece ' of the Grateful Dead Live-Recordings Puzzle was sure put in place, with this one ... Stellar !!!  Enjoy !!!!!  Oh yeah, and how could I almost forget .. .. .. Can't Beat the Cover Art ! on This-One Either ! - " The Bus Came By ... And I Got On " !!!!!
