The Dawes Super Galaxy needs no introduction. It is the best production touring bike of the last 50 years, and this example is no exception, dating from the mid 2000s. The sloping Reynolds 853 frame is in fantastic condition with smooth welded joints and excellent paint work. There are a couple of tiny spots of rust on the chain stay and a little surface pitting on one side of the fork crown, but overall, the paintwork is lovely. The bike has been ridden a fair bit in the past so there are signs of wear on the chainrings, and both rims have a little brake wear, but both surfaces are flat and will do many, many more miles. The Deore LX hubs are in good condition and the rims spin straight and true. The mudguards have had previous water ingress under the plastic but are perfectly usable and the Shimano Deore chainset has a few rub marks on the arms. The Shimano Tiagra shifters are in good working order but have some crazing on the levers and scratch marks on the outside of each lever body but are still quite presentable. Overall, the bike is in excellent working condition and rides very well as you would expect. With plenty of braze ons for racks galore this would make a great commuter or usable touring bike for the summer and beyond.
