1965 Press Photo Adolf Torovsky at Church of Epiphany, Washington - mjc22850

This is an original press photo. Sitting quietly in Washington's Church of Epiphany on January 20, Adolf Torovsky, 71, will wait for a signal from the capitol that President Johnson has finished his inaugural address. That is the signal for Torovsky to start ringing the bells. Inaugural committees for Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy asked that he perform the chimes in 1957 and 1961, and the music was transmitted to the crowds. Photo measures 7 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 01-10-1965.

Part Number: mjc22850
