[Used] MARTIN / D-18 1975 model

“The D-28 was made in 1976 when America became more familiar!”

In 1976, the United States celebrated its 200th anniversary. In this year, the magazine Popeye was launched in Japan, and young people opened their eyes to American culture. At that time, the Japanese folk song boom gave way to a new music boom, but the music of rock artists from the West Coast of the United States was often introduced, and the popularity of American guitars such as Martin, which they loved, led to the folk boom. It has increased so much that I can say that it has increased.
For the generation who lived through the 70's in real time, the D-28 from that era has arrived. Features non-scalloped bracing, Grover Rotomatic pegs, decal logo, and (albeit replaced) black pickguard. Unfortunately, the case is not a blue case, but the reliable sound that makes you feel the horsepower is typical of the D-28 of the time, and combined with its appearance, it makes you feel nostalgic. For those of the following generation, the neck grip and thick core resonance, which are different from current products, may be refreshing.
There is a Martin Crack repair mark (with patch) about 21cm near the edge of the body. The pickguard is newly created at a repair workshop affiliated with our store, but the surface is painted to ensure that the atmosphere of the original product is not compromised.
There are dents, scratches, abrasions, and shine on the satin paint on the back of the neck, but considering the model year, it can be said to maintain a relatively clean appearance. There is a slight weather check on the top. At our partner repair shop, we also corrected the neck angle, refret, fingerboard, replaced the saddle, and raised the nut and corrected the groove. The current condition of the neck is the same as when shipped from the manufacturer, and both playability and sound are perfect.
Even though the core is thick, it doesn't sound too boomy, and the balance from highs to lows is good. This is something that will last a lifetime. This is a recommended book.
