Alexander G. Kuznetsov was a grandson of Alexei Semenovich Gubkin. After Gubkin’s death, his inheritance is divided between his granddaughter Gubkina and grandson Kuznetsov. The heirs understand that in order to maintain and expand the business, you need to attract professionals and reorganize the company.

So, December 1, 1890 in the Crimea on the estate of A.G. Kuznetsov “Foros” a meeting of the founders of the Partnership was held in the person of Alexander Grigoryevich Kuznetsov, Grigory Kirillovich Kuznetsov and Alexander Efimovich Vladimirov. The new company was, through family ties, also associated with the Ushkovs. A.E. Vladimirov was the chairman of the Partnership in 1891 - 1917.

Note that this Foros estate became a presidential summer residence and glorified the “imprisonment” of the last Secretary General and President of the USSR M.S.

At the meeting, the charter of the Partnership with a fixed capital of 10,000,000 rubles, divided into 1,000 shares of 10,000 rubles, was approved. everyone. The total number of employees was 692 people, and workers - more than 3,000 people.

The general meeting decided to accept from the Trading House "Alexey Gubkin the heir and Co.", established back in 1884 by A.G. Kuznetsov, the whole thing is the full amount of all tangible property, bills, etc. according to the balance sheet as of January 1, 1891. Thus, this date became the day of the founding of the new Commercial and Industrial Partnership “Successor of Alexei Gubkin A. Kuznetsov and Co.”.

Material about the activities of the Commercial and Industrial Partnership “Successor of Alexey Gubkin A. Kuznetsov and Co.” was discovered by the author of this study at TsIAM, with documentation on the activities of this company. Only a few cases of this fund were previously superficially studied by researchers. The materials cover the period from 1896 to 1918.

The reorganization of the enterprise into a Partnership was carried out in several areas. Firstly, side trading operations with manufactory and grain were eliminated, the total turnover of which reached 1,000,000 rubles. At the same time, production close to tea trade remained. In particular, until 1899 the Partnership owned a large sugar refinery in Sokolniki.

The Moscow company created five main varieties of loose teas (which, in turn, were divided into numbers), accessible to all social strata, resorting to cheaper goods by reducing overall costs.

In 1896, at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair, the showcase of the Partnership was visited by Emperor Nicholas II with the Empress, who were satisfied not only with the variety of fragrant products of the company, but also with a clear organization of the whole business. Later, the Partnership was granted the high title of Supplier of the Court of His Imperial Majesty.

Since 1896, the Partnership began to practice the sale of goods through salespeople, thus entering into direct contact with merchants serving the final consumer, which allowed to reduce overhead costs. Ultimately, over 25 years (from 1891 to 1916), the number of registered regular customers has increased by almost 20 times.

The annual sales of the Partnership's loose tea reached 32,000,000 Russian pounds per year, which amounted to one third of the total consumption of this truly popular drink in the country.

In 1916, the Partnership celebrated its 25th anniversary with excellent results. Annual turnovers were calculated in the amount of

65,000,000 rubles For 25 years, goods worth 908.500.000 rubles were sold. (almost a billion rubles!), factories hung over 1.800.000.000 (almost two billion!) packs of tea. For two war years, 341,000 rubles were transferred to the state.

It is interesting to note that back in 1913, before the 25th anniversary of the Partnership, a series of commemorative tokens were minted in St. Petersburg for the 25th anniversary of the Partnership.

These tokens were distinguished by the metal of manufacture (part was made of gold), the presence of inlaid with precious stones (part of the series was inlaid with diamonds) and the presence of gift engravings on the part on the back.

An engraving with a dedicatory inscription on parts of the copies was placed on the reverse of the token, and on its obverse depicted crossed anchors (trademark of the Partnership), under which there was an inscription in Roman numerals “XXV” (25 years of the Partnership).

One of the tokens, from the collection of the Russian National Museum, is made of gold, encrusted with diamonds and diamonds, is filled with enamel on a guilloche background, and the inscription on the delivery of it to V.G. is engraved on the back. Batuev in 1913

In 1914, the amount of loans to customers amounted to 12,000,000 rubles. Annual turnover from 17.600.000 rubles. in 1891 it increased by 1916 to 65,000,000 rubles. The firm's sale of packaged tea alone reached 32,000,000 pounds of tea per year. The total number of employees and workers from 100 in 1891 increased by 1914 to 4,000.

The board and the main warehouse of the new company were located in the city of Moscow. The fixed capital of the partnership (according to the declared data of the company itself) amounted to 10,000,000 rubles, reserve capital (according to the declared data of the company itself) - 3,000,000 rubles.

The annual turnover of the company (also according to the declared data of the company itself) reached 50,000,000 rubles.
