Description: A very attractive example of the first printing of the first edition, illustrated by Harrison Weir. Original blue gilt cloth hardback. 7 inches by 5 inches. 91 pages plus 32 page publisher's catalogue to the rear, and illustrated with colour plates throughout. Illustrations all present and correct. All edges gilt. Original plain yellow endpapers. 

In very pleasing condition, with just a little bumping and wear (see pictures). Gift inscription to the front free end paper. Paper at hinges cracking but binding holding sound and square. A very nice example.

Provenance: This book was part of the collection of the celebrated book seller and collector George Locke.
