WW2 Trench Art Canteen Cup

This unique cup features incredible engravings of the locations the soldier was stationed and countries he likely saw combat in. He clearly made the rounds - places he was stationed that are etched include Ft. Snelling, Ft. Lewis, Camp Young, Camp Laguna, Camp Shanks, Camp Brooklyn, and Camp Lucky Strike; and the countries include Scotland, England, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, and Czechoslovakia. Notably, several of the camps listed were key training sites during WW2 and Camp Lucky Strike (as the last camp listed on the cup) was the final departure point in France for GIs returning home after VE Day. The cup practically tells its own story, and if only the blanks could be filled in...

The cup is stamped U.S. M.A.CO 194 on the bottom, with the last digit of the date worn off (given the extensive locations listed, I'd imagine it's a 1942/1943 issued cup. These personalized cups featuring extensive engravings are exceedingly rare, so don't miss out on this wonderful piece of history!!
