WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original RCA Records very first PROMOTIONAL Stereo press released by RCA Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1978 by Industria De Radio Y Televisión S.A. (IRT Records), licensed from Marlin Records/RCA Records, USA, catalog number ECS-001, with hand etched matrix numbers ECS-001-A RLS-CD in Side A and ECS-001-B RLS-CD in Side B, with traditional black/silver RCA Records labels, with colored “dog” and solid center. It’s interesting to notice that in the deadwax of both sides is written the exact date of pressing, “20-10-78” (October 20th of 1978). Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

American Generation” was originally released in USA in 1978 and the same year we could see this great Disco/Funk/Soul single by The Ritchie Family released here in Chile and as you can see we got it with an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, made of a single piece of thin paper folded in the middle, with back cover pasted on the flips of front cover. Front and back covers keep the same design, with a picture of the band, the name of the band and song titles written in Spanish at top Edge and RCA Records logo and catalog number at bottom left corner. If you know this single you could have already noticed that picture sleeve takes the same picture of the band of original US issue, but here in Chile it’s BROWN-TINTED. In labels, song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters and for Horace Ott for string and horns arrangements and conduction, with additional credits for production and right society and additional information about licenses and play time of each song. It’s very interesting to notice that here in Chile the Side B is “I Feel Disco Good”, because “American Generation” and “I Feel Disco Good” are two singles, but here in Chile we got both songs in the same single!!! And it’s also interesting to notice that here in Chile the play time of “American Generation” is “5:02” and the play time of “I Feel Disco Good” is “6:03”, not the play time of the all known single and 12” versions, here in Chile we got in this UNIQUE SINGLE the Album versions!!! In front cover you can also see the rounded IRT promo stamp “DISCO PROMOCIONAL – PROHIBIDA SU VENTA” (Promotional Record – Sale Forbidden). So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE and UNIQUE PROMOTIONAL PRESS RELEASED IN CHILE ONLY, with two classic Disco/Funk/Soul songs by The Ritchie Family, with UNIQUE BROWN-TINTED PICTURE SLEEVE and original Album versions in this UNIQUE 33 1/3 7” single, a record almost never seen and now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time. WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of The Ritchie Family and Funk/Disco music of the ‘70’s and early 80’s!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition, clean and clear, with wear in corners, creases, ling ring marks, some faint blemishes, little rips in the mouth edge, with spine and top edges solid but a 3 inches seam split at bottom edge. The record is in EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with some scuffs and light hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in great EX+ or NM- condition, clean and clear, with only some minimal spindle hole wear and a small tear and faint scratch in Side B. The sound is in strong NM- or NM condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only minimal occasional soft crackles here and there, barely audible, more evident in the last seconds of each song, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE and UNIQUE PROMOTIONAL PRESS ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE, with UNIQUE BROWN-TINTED PICTURE SLEEVE, UNIQUE SONGS INCLUDED and UNIQUE SONG VERSIONS INCLUDED, with the record with still a very nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and still a superb sound quality after about 46 years, which won’t disappoint any serious collector!!! A record ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE, almost never seen and in GREAT CONDITION!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

_________________________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
