Your jeweler can order the appropriate size and shape head to mount your center stone.  My jeweler said that a good jeweler can make a straight cut up the center and remove the old marquise head and solder in a new to fit any stone.  The current head fit a 1.00ct GIA VS2/F Marquise Diamond - the diamonds in the setting matched perfectly.

16 Brilliant Cut diamonds that very slightly taper towards the center to make the solitaire look larger.  The inside diamonds are 1.75, the outer are 1.9mm and prong set.

A new setting of this quality in 18K would retail at $2000.
