Nicola Simbari (1927 - 2012)

The Italian painter Nicola Simbari is best known for his vibrant and exuberant works created in the impressionistic style. The artist once described his works as entries in a diary as each of them is a reaction to things he saw or felt. His canvases reflect his personal enthusiasm and an enormous zest for life, having an infectious appeal.

After graduating from the Accademia Delle Belle Arti, Nicola Simbari opened his first studio in Rome at the young age of 22. Shortly after his solo exhibition in London, he was commissioned to paint murals for the Italian Pavilion at the 1958 World’s Fair in Brussels, which garnered much critical acclaim.

Scenes from Simbari’s childhood in Calabria, such as gypsies, cafes, fishing villages, and the Italian countryside, featured prominently in his early works. Full of pulsating energy and life, his canvases went on to depict Mediterranean landscapes and contemporary European life, but also the scenes of the Southwest. Painting in the semi-abstract Impressionist style, the artist used brilliant colors and vivid tones to create works imbued with great emotion and light. Painting with a palette knife, his works are characterized with great depth.

Simbari's works can be found in numerous museums and private and corporate collections around the world. His paintings are in collections including the Bank of Tokyo and the Christian Dior Collection in Paris; Italian State Railways in Rome; Liberty Company in London; and Tulsa Bank of Commerce, Cincinnati Fine Arts Department, Exxon Corporation, General Mills Corporation, and Pepsico, in America.

The work by Nicola Simbari was described as “thoroughly disarming” by a number of major American and English critics. His works provided a new definition through the intensity of vision and technique.

Nicola Simbari was born in 1927 in San Lucido, Calabria, but was raised in Rome, where his father was an architect for the Vatican. He died in 2012 in Frascati, Lazio, Italy.

Yuri Tremler (1961-)

Born in the Ukraine in 1961, Yuri Tremler attended the College of the Arts in Kharkov, (the second largest city in the Ukraine),
and the Kharkov Art & Design Academy. He later attended Gall Design School in Germany before returning to his hometown
where he worked as a metal smith and a theater decorator.

Immigrating to Israel in 1996, Tremler worked in crafts, industrial design, interior design, jewelry design,
and participated in many exhibitions.
He came to explore the world of painting a bit later in life, dedicating himself almost exclusively to that endeavor sometime around 1998.

Yuri Tremler's striking and spontaneous palette clearly expresses a gamut of emotional states and moods.
His paintings please the eye with a richness of color, a great sense of balance and confident brushwork.
In Tremler's creations, one can find echoes of the avant-garde movements from the early 20th century,
themes of bohemian lifestyles, or memories of conversation over a cocktail from long ago.

Subjects of Tremler's paintings seem to be distant and blurred, but they capture poetic moments of life.
His art reminds us of a sudden moment captured in a freeze-frame, an instant experienced after an intimate party,
time spent with friends, or a shared past which still brings excitement and delight to mind. Sometimes whimsical,
sometimes nostalgic, Tremler's art reaches inward to the basic emotions of humanity.
His creations are exhibited in art shows and galleries throughout Europe and the United States.

ISAAC MAIMON (1951 - )

The women of Paris are cultured, stylish, sensual and beautiful. And they are the inhabitants of the canvases of artist Isaac Maimon. Their subtle curves, their mysterious smiles and their impeccable fashions are portrayed in his iconic paintings of Parisian cafe society, paintings that are created with masterful lines and inspired strokes of color.

Maimon was born in Israel in 1951 and attended the Avni Institute of Fine Art in Tel Aviv, Israel’s most prestigious academy for the arts. He was very much influenced by such famed French painters as Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Henri Matisse. Maimon also found motivation in the work of his fellow Israelis, taking additional inspiration from painters Haim Kiva and Moshe Rosenthalis during his studies.

In 1980, he started teaching at the School of Visual Arts in Beer-Sheeba and later that year the Kaye Art Academy. He was also a professor at the Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheeba in the late 1980s..

Maimon also a restaurateur and pub owner he would sketch at the back table during his breaks from tending bar and managing his restaurant. “I have always been attracted to the atmosphere of coffee houses,” he says. “I try to recreate this in my paintings.”

His art is currently held in private and public collections and can be seen at art exhibitions and galleries throughout the world.

As for Isaac Maimon, he has a simple explanation for his work’s appeal. When art lovers enter his world, they “feel relaxed and connect with the scene. They can forget their everyday problems and become emerged in the romantic fantasy.”

Alexander + wissotsky  - husband and wife team ( both deceased)

Tanya Wissotzky (1959-2006) and Alexander Galtchansky (1959-2008) were born in the same year, 1959, in Crimea (U.S.S.R.). Their careers began in art school. Alexander studied in Dnepropetrovsk, and Wissotzky in Simferopol. They continued their studies at the Kiev Institute of the Arts; Wissotzky as a painter and Alexander as a book illustrator. After the two were married, they immigrated to Israel. Finding themselves in a drastically different place and situation, they united their creative activities and began a collaboration.

The work of Alexander and Wissotzky has received widespread acclaim and is featured in public and private collections worldwide. Some of their exhibitions include: Art Expo New York; BLD New York; Galaxy Gallery in Gotenburg, Sweden; Geissing Design Institution in Hamburg, Germany; and a permanent exhibition at the Binyanei Hauma, in Jerusalem.

William Nelson

William Nelson's artwork embodies a complete spectrum of American life.
The modern ' Normn Rockwell'.
His Western and Native American images have been compared the work of other realist greats such as
George Catlin and the legendary Fredric Remington.
Nelson's nostalgic art has been compared with the work of Norman Rockwell and Andrew Wyeth. In 1976,
Nelson was commissioned as the official exclusive artist for the Olympiad by the United States Olympic Committee
and his work was part of the Atlanta Olympiad in 1996.
He was also commissioned by the U.S. Congress to paint "A Bicentennial History of the United States"
which was unveiled before leaders of the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration in Washington D.C.
and was later put on display at the Smithsonian Institute. Nelson has works that are displayed in the White House,
The National Museum of Art, and numerous private collections.
