Two strong signatures: G.W. Guthrie 1st Lt./Comdg Co. Guthrie was in Captain Cameron’s Victoria Company during the 1842 Battle of Salado. He later served as 2nd Lieutenant in Captain John T. Price’ Victoria and Goliad Counties Rangers from September 1845-June 1846, Battalion of Texas Mounted Rangers, Major John Coffee Hays, Commanding. This receipt from June 1846 dates to the end of his service under “Capt. J. T. Price‘s Company, U.S. Rangers”.
