LED ZEPPELIN

“LED ZEPPELIN” (Debut)

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Atlantic Records second Stereo press released by Atlantic Records, made and distributed in Venezuela in 1978 by Grabaciones Mundiales C.A., licensed from Atlantic Records Corporation, catalog number GM-200.2280, with hand etched matrix numbers ATLANTIC-LPS-2002280-A in Side A and AT-2002280-B HT in Side B, with traditional green/orange Atlantic Records labels of the period. It’s interesting to notice that in the deadwax of Side A, it’s also written a name or a sign, which’s really hard to understand. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from South America!!!

“LED ZEPPELIN” was originally released in 1969, but it was released by the very first time in Venezuela in 1972, with catalog number 50.014. In 1978 it was reissued with a different catalog number and similar artwork. In Venezuela “Led Zeppelin”, the debut album, got an UNIQUE COVER made of a single piece of hard cardboard folded in the middle with a single sheet for front and back cover fully pasted on the cardboard. Front cover has an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, with the same picture of the zeppelin but with the tracklist printed inside the zeppelin, NO OTHER ISSUE in the world has this front cover artwork!!! The tracklist is written in front cover in Spanish only but in labels the tracklist is written in English, translated to Spanish, with full credits for songwriters of each song and additional license credits. An interesting fact to notice is that Spanish translation is different in front cover and labels!!!

Tracklist in Labels:

Side A

1    Good Times, Bad Times (Buenos Tiempos, Malos Tiempos)

2    Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You (Muchacha, Voy A Dejarte)

3    You Shook Me (Me Agitaste)

4    Dazed And Cofused (Aturdido Y Confuso)

Side B

1    Your TIMES Is Gonna Come (Tu Tiempo Va A Llegar)

2    Black Mountain Side (El Lado Sombreado De La Montaña)

3    Communication Breakdown (Comunicación Interrumpida)

4    I Can’t Quit You Baby (No Puedo Abandonarte Nena)

5    How Many More TIME (Cuántas Veces Más)

Tracklist in front cover (only in Spanish)

Side A

1    Buenos Tiempos, Malos Tiempos

2    Nena, Yo Voy A Dejarte

3    Tú, Me Agitaste

4    Aturdido Y Confuso

Side B

1    Tu Tiempo, Va A Llegar

2    El Lado Oscuro De La Montaña

3    Comunicación Interrumpida

4    No Puedo Abandonarte, Nena

5    Cuántas Veces Más

Another fact to notice is that it also has some other errors in labels, the song “Your Time Is Gonna Come” is misspelled “Your TIMES Is Gonna Come” and the song “How Many More Times” is misspelled “How Many More TIME”. So, here you have the chance to get and own this RARE and UNIQUE PRESS of the debut album by Led Zeppelin, ONLY RELEASED IN VENEZUELA with this UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and UNIQUE ERRORS. WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Led Zeppelin and/or Hard Rock music!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG- or VG condition, no missing parts, no writings, but with evident age browning and moderate wear in all the cover, more notorious in the mouth edge and corners, some blemishes and rips, with tape at top and bottom edges to hide a total seam split, but it’s discreet so it doesn’t affect much the look. The record is in VG or VG+ condition, glossy and clean, with very light scratches and many light hairlines and soft scuffs, which don’t affect play at all, even though in the second track of Side A it’s a factory imperfection which causes clicks for some seconds. Labels on both sides are in great NM- or NM condition, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is a nice surprise, it’s in VG+ or even EX- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with no background noise at all, but with some light crackles here and there, with some clicks in the second song of Side A and some occasional pops in Side B, most of songs play in absolute EX or EX+ condition. Overall, it’s still a great record with a very nice look, almost immaculate labels and still great sound quality after about 46 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone who knows the real level of rarity of this Venezuelan issue!!! If you want a Mint copy, this copy isn’t for you, not the best cover and not the best record, but a classic album like this and the chance to get it with an UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE ERRORS is a chance not seen so often!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

______________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
