This postcard shows a photo of a scene from the reenactment of Song of Hiawatha by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. This scene is titled "Thus They Buried Minnehaha" and appears to show a line of Native American Indians in a funeral procession with teepees dotting the background. However, it's very likely the people in this photo are actors dressed as Indians. The image is copyrighted 1913 to F.E. Moore. The card has been mailed and is postmarked the same year. It was mailed from New York, NY to a Miss H. Herron in Missoula, Montana. The note on the back describes the event as "one of the prettiest scenes in the day -- all the Indians changed as they went along."

It's in good antique condition. There is some red staining on the front, which is most noticeable at the bottom of the card. There's also moderate wear to corners and the paper has yellowed with age.
