An absolutely stunning original 1950’s party/prom dress in a gorgeous shade of soft salmon pink chiffon with the most elaborate beading decoration! This is undoubtedly one of the loveliest chiffon gowns I have ever listed, The style typifies the 50’s - oh so feminine and figure flattering – narrow form fitting bodice, designed to enhance the bust and accentuate a tiny waist – with a twirling full skirt. There are three layers to the skirt – a stiff muslin underskirt to give the skirt extra body, a coral satin acetate lining, topped with a layer of salmon chiffon. No maker’s label remains but this dress appears professionally made. No fabric contents label but this is likely a nylon blend.

Note the special details on this lovely dress – bust enhancing (boned) chiffon bodice, exquisite sequin trim, and of course the wonderfully full tea length skirt, perfect for dancing.

The dress closes down the side with a metal zipper. The entire dress is lined in matching coral satin acetate.Note the dress is photographed using a crinoline to show the skirt to full advantage – the crinoline is not included.

No vintage size label, so please see measurements below for proper fit. This is a small size which would best fit a modern size 2 or 4.

Condition

This dress is in excellent vintage condition. No tears and underarms are clean. The trim decoration appears intact, although with this volume of sequins, I cannot guarantee there are none missing. Of course there are several snags and pics typical of chiffon skirts of this vintage. Only a few minor mentions - a tiny repair to the skirt hemline, a few scattered pinholes and pale marks on the chiffon skirt, which are inconspicuous and visible only on close inspection.

Buyers will receive an invoice within 24 hours. Contact should be made within 3 days notifying me of your shipping address and intended payment method. Payment must be received within 10 days of auction close.

Returns

All items are sold as final sales, unless a significant flaw has inadvertently not been disclosed. I do my best to accurately describe every item and any significant flaws will be mentioned in the description. Of course it is possible to overlook something and if this occurs, please contact me as soon as possible and I will do my best to resolve the issue. I cannot accept returns for items that do not fit – measurements are taken carefully so please ensure that these match your own before bidding.

Please keep in mind that vintage items are not new, and as such are rarely in perfect condition. Unless otherwise stated, all items have been worn and show some degree of wear. Small imperfections are inherent in vintage garments and add character to the pieces.

Shipping

Unless otherwise requested, all Canadian and US shipments will be shipped expedited parcel via Canada Post, with tracking and insurance. I do not charge handling fees so all prices reflect actual mailing costs.

International buyers are welcome. International shipments will be priced on an individual basis and generally will be higher. If you would like an international shipping quote before purchasing, please send me an email.
