This is a 1939 Philco radio made in Philadelphia.  This Philco was showing it had a hard life but had potential. Look at the last pic. The case was covered in mung, had several separations including the entire bottom panel requiring TLC.  Removed all of the non working radio guts. Repaired the damage using epoxy & a few supports. Sanded the case and found zebra veneer along the bottom & a stripe on the top section along with walnut veneer.  Added some toner to even out the look. The case was finished with several coats of semi gloss lacquer. Now it looks fantastic . Love the contrast of the woods. Cleaned and polished the original brass dial bezel. Was able to reuse the gold foil dial and pointer both original but not perfect. Used a piece of period correct speaker cloth.  Added 2 matching knobs from my inventory since the original ones were damaged.  Used a piece of vintage speaker cloth to finish the look. Big improvement  Please look at the pics. On the inside, I installed a new Bluetooth digital stereo hi-fi audio amplifier with 50 watts in addition to a big 4" Jensen Pro multi range speaker. Yes this classic is now a real boom box. This thing sounds great.  Installed the on/off/volume switch with the knob on the right. The other is fixed. All of the electronics are hard wired and secured to the inner supports insure a long life.  This is one of a kind Bluetooth speaker that is deco cool. A real conversation piece that makes a grand statement. The back panel new. There is a new electrical plug also. The 1939 Philco deco radio converted to Bluetooth speaker measures a small 11" x 9" x 6" .Will look good, sound great and fit anywhere. Let know if you have any questions.
