Land Rover series 2a 1971
Green (originally yellow)
2.25 petrol
89k miles

Welcome to my listing. Please study the pictures on the listing as it forms a large part of the description.

I’ve bought the 2a around 6 months ago off a friend who had it for 20 plus years. It was MOTd every year and never drive more than 100 miles a year. Please see the MOT history on line. It has a stack of paper work to confirm this and some receipts of work done past and present.
I was planning on keeping it but bought another project instead so freeing up funds for that.
The 2a must be one of the very last sold as it was registered in November of 1971. Been a rare Maltese cross grill with synchro box and the desirable petrol engine.
As it had been stood and not really used properly for a long time I have gone over it and fitted a lot of new parts. They are as follows.

New Glazed door tops
New starter motor
New Lucas battery
New ignition system from autos park.
 Dizzy,coil, Leeds, electronic ignition
New clutch from LOF
New brake and master cylinders
New flexi brake hoses
New wing mirrors
New water hoses
New thermostat
New fan belt
New wiper blades

It’s also had in recent years a full set of mud terrain tires which are very good, parabolic springs all round and exmoor trim tilt.

It brakes well, starts first time and runs well. All the gears are good along with the transfer box. It also had free wheeling hubs fitted which select freely.

The chassis is all original and very solid with minimal repairs. I’ve not wax oiled it and would rather someone see it in the honest light and show exactly the condition it is in. It would look well once done.
Body wise it’s pretty straight. I love  the patina look and would not change it but that a decision for the next owner to make. It was original yellow (possible a BT vehicle) that’s been painted over in green. All panels apart from
The tail gate are original including the bulkhead. There is a tiny bit on each corner of the bulkhead that would need a repair but nothing major.
