This is a precious 18th century upholstery back of a long settee, salvaged and in need of some restoration if one wants to cut into sections to make opulent decorator throw pillows, or backed and framed as a wall hanging. In either course, it will need some needlework, restoration. Priced accordingly. Photos show it is sections and so you can see there are some areas not yet worked/restored. That said, the figures are fabulous and scenes are wonderful. Children playing, a dog in the mix, and the joyful pastoral theme popular in the 1700s, when this was hand loomed. Large piece to work with, it would be fabulous framed above a buffet, as headboard, or above a window. Will require a little more restoration if you intend to work up into pillows. Good condition for age and type, our price reflects a need for more restoration if you wish to make pillow tops, a little less involved if you frame it as a wall hanging. Were it already restored, price would be 3-4 times our offering price. One to love, TLC and a little time with needle, thread asked of its next owner. Found in France, of course.

Insurance has been eliminated as an option by ebay, forcing us sellers to either ship your items without insurance or assume that expense also. Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is received (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat $35.00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges.
