PETER KRAUS

Orquesta De Erwin Halletz

(Orchester Erwin Halletz)

SIDE A:     KITTY KAT

SIDE B:     HAVANNA

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Polydor Records very first Mono press released in Chile in 1960 by Polydor Records, made and distributed by Philips Chilena S.A. Productos Eléctricos (Philips Records), licensed from the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft, Germany, catalog number NH 23 957, with machine etched matrix numbers NH-23957-A- in Side A and NH-23957-B- in Side B, with traditional orange/black “scroll” Polydor Records labels of the period, with white “Polydor” at top, white rim text and large center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!!

Kitty Kat” was originally released in Germany by Peter Kraus in June 1959 and it took a while to see this single in Chile because it was released in 1960. Song titles are written in original language only, with full credits for songwriters, original German catalog number, with additional information about tax law applicable in Chile, rights society, style of music of each song, “Foftrot” for “Kitty Kat” and “Slow” for “Havanna” and cash price printed in Side A, “E° 1,38”. If you know this single, then you could have already noticed that song title in Side B is “Havanna Love”, but here in Chile -and as far as I know ONLY IN CHILE- the song title was shortened “HAVANNA” and it’s also informed in both labels that songs are taken from the film “Todos Aman A Peter” (original “Alle Lieben Peter”). So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS of this single by Peter Kraus, with UNIQUE SONG TITLE “HAVANNA”, a record almost never seen and rarely auctioned here in eBay!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Peter Kraus, Erwin Halletz and classic German Schlager and Pop/Rock’n’Roll music of late ‘50’s and early ‘60’s!!!

This single doesn’t come with a cover. Record is in VG- or VG condition both sides, it has lost some of its gloss, but it’s clean, with many scuffs, light hairlines and soft scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in VG+ or even EX- condition both sides, clear and clean, with some spindle hole wear, the name of a past owner written in Side A, with some age browning and very faint blemishes and discoloration. The sound is in strong VG or even VG+ condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and regular light clicks, more evident in the first and last seconds of the song, and in G+ or even VG- condition the Side B, with constant light clicks and regular soft clicks, much more evident than in Side A, which could cause some distraction but the sound keeps loud and clear from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS, with UNIQUE SONG TITLE, for sure a record not for strict Minty minds and audiophiles, but still in a nice condition, with clear and fully readable labels and with a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 63 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone and should satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean single in this very first press, almost never seen!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
