I am selling off some items from my collection of chairs. ONE NOW SOLD

These really are very rare as firstly it is so difficult to find fibreglass shell chairs like this with the shock mounts rock tight like new, which is also very hard to find. They are also complete one offs made as prototypes by Herman Miller in the factory. They are designed as occasional chairs and can be enjoyed for many different uses.

They are very sculptural and elegant due to the balance of the bucket seat and the slim base.

I purchased these chairs from a gentlemen in Highgate in 2001, who been previously the head of Herman Miller in London. I bought a lot of things from him (through an advert in Loot) and he told me these chairs had been made as prototypes in the factory as the La Fonda base wasnt in production with the lounge fibreglass shell.

They are so lovely with the patina of the fibreglass and the La Fonda base.
