This listing is for a pre-owned HO NSW PHG 36' goods brake van, as produced by Trainorama. Nearly 250 of the prototype vans were built for NSWR between 1937 and 1953. Theis made them numerically the largest class of brake van built for NSWR. from the mid 1960s, many of the class were withdrawn, and their underframes used in the construction of more modern brake vans. they lasted a lengthy time ion service, with a small number receiving the Indian red scheme, and NSWR rhomboid lettering. I understand the last vans were withdrawn in the early 1980s. At least one has been preserved. The model is an excellent reproduction of the prototype, and regarded as one of Trainorama's better models. It features full underbody detail, including brake gear, has separate wire handrails, uncoupling levers, and sliding doors. It has been fitted with the correct 2SA bogies, with spoked metal wheelsets for smooth operation. It has Kadee couplers. The model has been professionally weathered, and fitted with tail discs. See images. These models sold out quickly on arrival, and have been out of production for many years. They are regarded as scarce.
