This is a charming little French antique / vintage shoe trunk.
The malletier / maker is unknown, but it's a quality item with solid brass hardware and a zinc lined bottom.
From the materials and style, it appears to be from the 1920-30s period.
The clasps align perfectly well. The lock closes ok, but requires a slight pull back to get it to align (easy to do). There's no key for the lock.
It measures around 64.5 x 36 x 35cm (25" x 14" x 14").
It's been relined in a natural linen, so provides excellent clean storage.
