Beautiful, vintage, gun cabinet salvaged from Northeastern PA.
It was made by, "Mastercraft" (see last
photo). Except for the plywood backing and the MDF drawer linings, the piece is
made of solid pine.
The 2 glass doors swing out, but
one of them could be locked in place allowing only one of the doors to swing.
The door without the locks is kept closed with a magnet strip. This door has a
lock, but we don't have the key for it. There are 2 sliding drawers with brass
pulls/handles under the doors.
Inside the cabinet, there is a board with 8 cut-outs to hold the gun stocks and
further up there is a shelf with cut-outs to hold the gun barrels. All cut-outs
have green felt to ensure your guns don't get scratched or scuffed. At the top,
there is a light which turns on and off by a switch connected to the power cord
in back of the cabinet.
The cabinet was owned by a single
owner and it pretty much sat in the same place for decades. The only blemishes
it has are a couple of scrapes and scratches that happened while the piece was
brought up to his 3rd floor apartment and back down into our van. The glass is
fully intact and in great shape. The drawers and doors slide/swing easily.
Considering that the piece is about 50 years old, it is
in excellent condition. Our carpenter thoroughly inspected the piece and
didn't need to make any repairs or reinforce anything. The cabinet is strong and sturdy and is ready for another
lifetime of service!
