MAAG - MILITARY ASSISTANCE ADVISORY GROUP Vietnam War MACV - Military Assistance Command Vietnam Vietnam 5c Saigon MAAG Vietnam, Officer Open Mess Vietnam War MAAG MAAG Vietnam operated in Vietnam from 1950 until May of 1964 when it was replaced by MACV.  MAAG was a Central Intelligence Agency run Advisory Group to the government and military of South Vietnam (and the French in some aspects prior to 1955).  This Military Token, 5c of MAAG / MACV covers the crossover period of mid 1964 when MAAG transitioned to MACV ( A US Special Forces / Command advisory combat element).  It is the rarest of Vietnam War Tokens.  Not to be missed.  These coins / tokens were used in lieu of Military Payment certificates (that only came in note form) in Mess halls, Clubs and machines. Highly collectable and with ever increasing values the expectation of value in coming years (and already being achieved in many cases) is that they will be valued in line with tokens from POW Camps of WWII.
