NAVAJO 1920's THUNDERBIRD HAND HAMMERED TURQUOISE SILVER INGOT EARRINGS

Museum quality antique earrings testing at least coin silver (800) to sterling (925)

Purchased during the "Roaring Twenties" era at a jewelry shop on the Boardwalk of Atlantic City, New Jersey ... a long way from their origin in Arizona or New Mexico.

Rare authentic century old Navajo Thunderbird earrings, beautifully crafted in the Old Style with less refined handmade tools - hand cut, with intricate and well defined chisel hammered design. Solid bezel set bright blue natural turquoise with black matrix. Birds are suspended from handmade stamped bead halfs and have screw backs.

As found in this original Atlantic City NJ Boardwalk jewelry store box.  The "Fred Harvey- Roaring Twenties" Era was an age of innovative, decorative costume and art deco design. Native American jewelry was popular across the country, with inexpensive copies of Native design quickly turned out, and flimsy Native American jewelry abounded. These earrings are NOT of that ilk, but are authentic, rare collectibles, skillfully created by a master silversmith, reflecting the exquisite art of the finest vintage Native American jewelry ....
In excellent vintage condition, earrings have been cleaned and are ready to wear and enjoy today.
