Grateful Dead Fans !!! Offered here is the ' 9th Show ' from the Grateful
Dead "Europe '72" Tour ! ... April 26, 1972 ( 4/26/72 ) at the
" Jahrhundert Halle " ( Hundred Year Hall ! ) in Frankfurt, West
Germany !! And as you might well expect - considering the Time & era
of Grateful Dead Music we are talking about here ... the Band continues to
truly " Strike-Lightning ! " during the middle-leg of this Monumental
Tour ! Seven ( 7 ) Shows were played at the Academy of Music in New York
City in Late-March ( 3/21-28/72 ), and if you have heard pieces, parts or all
of that magnificent run - then you already know just how " effective
" that NYC run was as the ideal " Tour Warm-Up " for this
Big-Time Europe '72 stretch that was right around the corner. Europe '72
kicked-off at the Wembley Empire Pool ( London ) on 4/7/72 & 4/8/72, as
part of a two-night stand. And right after that, the Band performed at the
" City Hall " at Newcastle upon Tyne, England, then to Copenhagen,
Aarhus ( Denmark ), " back " to Copenhagen, to Bremen ( Germany ), to
Dusseldorf ( W. Germany ), then here -- to Frankfurt, West Germany at the
" Jahrhundert Halle " ( Hundred ( 100 ) Year Hall !! ) ... which many
Dead Fans consider to be the Premiere & Finest Single-Show from this
Legendary Europe '72 Tour. Hey, we all have our personal favorites from
this monumental Europe '72 run -- but even anyone who puts another date at the
" Top ", still probably recognizes this one as a Top-5, or even a
Top-3 overall. After all, this is the Show that was released by the
Grateful Dead following Jerry Garcia's passing in 1995, which was really one of
the " Main " non-" Dick's Picks " releases ! When
everybody 1st got their hands on this, it was a very emotional time for all
loyal Dead Fans, and the power & passion in this show certainly did its job
in helping us both grieve & celebrate our beloved Grateful Dead ! So
-- here 2012 rolls-around, and now you can add this Amazingly-Remastered
version !! Truly one of the Best of All-Time ! - at least to me &
many others. And back to the Tour ! ( naturally ) well, from here ... it
was 13 More Shows ( 22 in Total ) stretching from , to Hamburg, to Paris, to
the Bickershaw Festival ( Wigan, England ), to Amsterdam, to Rotterdam, to
France, to Luxembourg, to Munich, and back to London for a final 4-night stand
at the Lyceum ! Europe '72 !!! Yum !! But my-oh-my ... the
famous 100-Year Hall stop - simply legendary '72 Grateful Dead, and really just
Grateful Dead period. There is Magic ! - sheer G.D. Magic !! all
throughout this fine release, but to really cut to the chase ... Disc 3 offers
a Truckin' > Drums > Other One > Comes A Time > Sugar Magnolia, that
well-does its part to solidify the Grateful Dead as the Absolute-Best ! Live
Band of All-Time. If you haven't heard this Show, after listening ... I
believe you will agree. Completely-Beautiful ! Musicianship . . .
