These reels first appeared around 2000. They were made in India and were advertised as reproduction antique reels.  The names used (ABBU ZEIS) were no doubt meant to appear similar to the Swedish reel maker ABU and the German optical instrument maker ZEISS.

The reel works OK and is reasonably well made and joins the collectors market for fake reel.
