A plastic 3-way head comes attached, supplied with a cork-topped quick release plate. The plastics used are fairly rigid and shouldn't have too much trouble coping with a consumer SLR and consumer grade lenses. The maximum weight the tripod can support is listed as being 4kg, which I personally feel is a little optimistic as the plastic does flex noticeably under load.

The legs are secured with plastic clips, and are actually quite stiff, securing each leg position well. The centre column is also simple to release, making it easy to remove the separate monopod. The individual sections of the pole can be prone to slipping if not tightened correctly, or if too much weight is applied to the monopod, although I believe it will suffice for most consumer level SLRs and lens combinations. I wouldn't go putting a 70-200mm f/2.8 on there though.

Attaching a camera is simple. The supplied quick release plate is well designed and tightens to the base of the camera using a folding wingnut, so there is no need to find a spare penny each time you wish to tighten or undo the plat
