UPDATE: Price Drop; after some more testing I’ve found the echos start to distort once the unit warms up. I’m not sure what’s causing this but I’ve put a lot of time into this unit already so I’ve decided to sell it as is. The original designer is very helpful and would certainly give some advice on the potential cause, it is likely something simple.

A very rare classic digital delay from MXR, the 113 rack is one of the very first examples of a Digital Delay unit released, made in 1976 and utilising RAM chips on cards which could be expanded to 4 cards. Has been used by many famous musicians including Pink Floyd, Jaco Pastorius, Eric Johnson and many more. As this is a vintage unit, the bandwidth of the delay varies depending on the delay time selected yielding tape and analog delay type sounds with a truly unique character, a sort of gritty atmospheric sound especially when using the modulation. You can also use these for chorus and flanger sounds!

This unit has been refurbished by myself and previous owner, including a recap, ic replacement and clean. More importantly the only point of failure on these units was the boards being on cards with header connectors like a computer, the connectors would come loose overtime and loose contact, I have removed all of them except the RAM cards (to allow for further expansion and servicing) and hard wired all the boards so they won’t ever come loose again. This unit also contains 3 out of 4 of the memory expansion boards, I believe it is possible to find modern replicas if you want to max out the unit.

Cosmetically the unit has a fair bit of wear and tear, but not bad for 50+ years old. One knob is not original but apart from that the unit is complete. Runs on 240v as well so no step down required.

There is lots of info about these online including a very interesting write up by the original designer! Worth a read for sure.

*note for international buyer: due to the rarity and vintage of this unit, I will not accept any returns for international orders. I pack extremely well and I am happy to provide videos of the unit working as described if needed.

Thanks
