The catalog, reference book examines “space” postage stamps issued for the period from 1957 to 1991 and, as an exception, stamps about flights on stratospheric balloons in 1933 – 1934. These flights to high altitudes were preceded by flights into space, and the tasks assigned to the stratonauts related to the study of the stratosphere, the nature of cosmic rays and other problems. When describing series of postage stamps and single issues, the following is given: date release of stamps (blocks) into circulation, short name of the series or subject of stamps, information about the printing method and paper, information about the type and size of perforation, size of stamps (blocks), name of the artist and circulation. The description of a stamp (block) includes: its number, denomination, a description of the plot reduced to a minimum, the color of the stamp and its circulation. In a number of cases where there were variations in the issue, additional information is given in a minimal amount (periodation, size of the picture, raster, paper properties, shades of color, type, etc.), allowing the issues to be distinguished. Most types of postage stamp design details are provided with illustrations.
